Funds 2007–2013

The Czech Republic, as a candidate country, had the opportunity to draw from the European Union pre-accession aid programmes until 2004. Those were the Phare and Sapard programmes and the ISPA financial assistance tool. Since 2004, the Czech Republic, as a member country, has been given access to the system of financial assistance the backbone of which is the European Union Structural Funds – the main tool of the implementation of the EU cohesion policy.

A new programming period has begun to apply for 2007-2013, within which the Czech Republic has been given access to assistance from the EU Structural Funds and the Cohesion Fund in the total volume of EUR 26.3 billion.

On the basis of the defined objectives and priorities of the National Development Plan of the CR for 2007-2013 and of the National Strategic Reference Frame, the Czech Republic has prepared individual operational programs within the following 3 objectives of the EU’s Economic and Social Cohesion Policy in order to use the European Union funds in 2007-2013:
